The Women Cell of St. Michael’s College Cherthala functions as an active platform dedicated to women empowerment, gender equality, leadership development, and social responsibility. The Cell organizes various programmes focusing on personality development, legal awareness, health and wellness, entrepreneurship, self-defence, and life skills training to nurture confidence and self-reliance among students. Through seminars, workshops, awareness campaigns, panel discussions, and counselling sessions, the Women Cell promotes an inclusive and supportive campus environment.
In association with Kerala State Women Development Corporation and other social organizations, the Women Cell conducts outreach programmes, exhibitions, awareness initiatives, and community-oriented activities that encourage creativity, leadership, and social commitment among students. Major initiatives include International Women’s Day celebrations, manuscript magazine publication, entrepreneurial exhibitions, health awareness programmes, and campaigns against gender-based violence. The Women Cell continues to play a significant role in fostering empowerment, dignity, and holistic development within the academic community.

Vision and Objectives

              The Women Cell of our college serves as a dynamic platform to empower girl students, foster self-actualization, and support career advancement. Its objectives include disseminating knowledge on women-related issues, health, employment, and gender matters, while also strengthening moral and ethical values. The Cell envisions enabling students to play an active role in building a healthy and inclusive society.

  • Dedicated rest room for girl students and lady teachers
  • Installation of a sanitary napkin vending machine in the Women Cell room for easy access and hygiene

Best Practices and Creative Engagement
              To nurture creativity and confidence, the Cell follows unique best practices:

  • Manuscript Magazine – released annually to showcase student creativity
  • Environmental Responsibility – planting and nurturing Kuttimulla plants in the campus
  • Celebrating International Women’s Day – organised every year with talks, competitions, and cultural events
  • Exhibition-cum-Sale of Student Products – providing a platform for entrepreneurial skills, benefitting student participants
