The Tourism Club of B.Voc Tourism and Hospitality Management is a student-driven initiative aimed at promoting knowledge, skills, and awareness in the field of tourism and hospitality. The club provides a platform for students to explore the diverse aspects of tourism through seminars, workshops, study tours, cultural activities, and awareness programs.
 
The main objectives of the club are:
            •           To enhance students’ practical exposure and industry-oriented skills.
            •           To promote responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
            •           To encourage leadership, creativity, and teamwork among students.
            •           To organize events and activities that connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.

EZYGO Application Training for Beginners

The Department of B.Voc, St. Michael’s College, Cherthala, organised a training programme titled “EZYGO for Beginners” on 17 June 2025 at Bishop Stephen Athipozhiyil Block. The session was led by Mr. Jithumon K. V., Head of the Department of B.Voc Tourism and Hospitality Management, with the objective of introducing faculty members to the essential features and academic functionalities of the EZYGO application. The training covered the platform interface, navigation of academic modules, newly introduced features, attendance management, internal mark entry, and communication modules. Through demonstrations, hands-on practice, and an interactive discussion, participants gained practical knowledge and confidence in using the application for efficient academic administration. The programme was successful in enhancing the digital competencies of faculty members and promoting the effective use of technology in academic management.

VOYANZA 2025 – Tourism Fest

VOYANZA 2025, a two-day tourism and cultural fest organised by the Tourism Club of St. Michael’s College, Cherthala, was held on 10 and 11 November 2025 with the aim of promoting tourism awareness, cultural exchange, creativity, leadership, and student engagement. The fest was inaugurated by Dr. Abhilash Symon, Founder and CEO of Avion Group, and featured a variety of competitions and activities, including the Tour Guide Challenge, Virtual Food Contest, Videography Competition, Travel Quiz, and Arm Wrestling Championship, along with an expert session on entrepreneurship and opportunities in the tourism and aviation sectors. The event also showcased vibrant cultural performances and provided students with a platform to develop their skills, teamwork, and confidence. Through the coordinated efforts of faculty members, student coordinators, and participants, VOYANZA 2025 emerged as a grand success, creating a dynamic learning environment and leaving lasting memories for all involved.

Offline Session on Integration of Global Distribution Systems (GDS) in Airline Ticket Booking

As part of the World Tourism Day 2025 celebrations, the Tourism Club of St. Michael’s College, Cherthala, organised an offline session on “Integration of Global Distribution Systems (GDS) in Airline Ticket Booking” on 27 September 2025 at Avion Aviation & Logistics Academy, Ernakulam. The session was led by Dr. Abilash Symon, Founder and CEO of Avion Group, and aimed to provide students with an understanding of Global Distribution Systems, their role in airline ticket booking, and career opportunities in the aviation and tourism sectors. The programme included an introduction to GDS platforms such as Amadeus, Galileo, and Sabre, a live demonstration of airline ticket booking procedures, and insights into industry-relevant career paths. Participants also visited aviation and logistics training facilities, interacted with industry professionals, and gained practical exposure to airport operations, logistics management, and aviation safety practices. The session was highly informative and successful in enhancing students’ knowledge, practical skills, and awareness of opportunities in the global travel and aviation industry.

GREEN PULSE 2025 – Environmental Day Activity

As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, the Department of B.Voc Tourism and Hospitality Management, St. Michael’s College, Cherthala, organised GREEN PULSE 2025 on 5 June 2025 in the college compound to promote environmental awareness and sustainability. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. John Thomas, followed by a sapling planting ceremony led by Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu S. Nair and Rev. (Dr.) Fr. Celestine Puthenpurackal. An inspiring environmental message was delivered by Dr. Teny David, highlighting the importance of trees in combating climate change, preserving biodiversity, reducing pollution, and supporting human well-being. Centred on the theme “The Power of One Tree,” the event encouraged students and faculty to recognise the significant environmental benefits of tree planting and adopt eco-friendly practices. The programme successfully raised awareness about environmental conservation and reinforced the institution’s commitment to fostering ecological responsibility and sustainable community engagement.

Monsoon Photography Competition 2025

The Tourism Club of St. Michael’s College, Cherthala, successfully organised a Monsoon Photography Competition on 26 June 2025 with the theme “Monsoon Moments on Campus”, aiming to encourage creativity, visual storytelling, and appreciation of the beauty of the rainy season. Conducted virtually, the competition was open to all students and invited participants to capture the ambience, emotions, and natural charm of the monsoon through photography. Entries were evaluated based on creativity, originality, relevance to the theme, composition, visual Impact, and technical quality. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments, showcasing diverse perspectives on the monsoon season. By providing a platform for artistic expression and engagement with nature, the competition successfully highlighted student talent and strengthened the Tourism Club’s efforts to promote creativity and campus involvement.

Clean the Shore Campaign

The Tourism Club of St. Michael’s College, Cherthala, in association with the Coastal Police Station, Arthunkal, organised the “Clean the Shore Campaign” at Mararikulam Beach on 12 July 2025 with the objective of promoting environmental awareness, responsible tourism, and marine conservation. The programme was inaugurated by Coastal Police Sub Inspector Sri. K. P. Pushpan, and was attended by police officials, faculty members, students, and local volunteers. Following an awareness session on the growing threat of marine pollution and the importance of shoreline protection, participants actively engaged in a beach cleaning drive using gloves, waste collection bags, and segregated disposal methods for biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. The campaign successfully encouraged community participation, strengthened environmental responsibility among students, and highlighted the importance of collective action in preserving coastal ecosystems, making it a meaningful and impactful initiative towards a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

Freedom Files Quiz Competition

The Tourism Club of St. Michael’s College, Cherthala, organised the “Freedom Files” Quiz Competition on 8 August 2025 at the B.Voc Hall as part of the Independence Day celebrations to enhance students’ knowledge of India’s freedom struggle, history, and eminent freedom fighters. Conducted in a two-member team format, the competition featured a preliminary written round followed by an exciting on-stage final round for the top-performing teams. The event encouraged patriotism, teamwork, healthy competition, and historical awareness among participants from various departments. With enthusiastic participation, engaging rounds, and recognition for winners and runners-up, the programme successfully instilled respect for the sacrifices of freedom fighters while fostering learning and national pride among students, making it a memorable and meaningful academic activity.
